Hot Sox Field at Wilson Park, was selected for recognition by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
The AIA Chesapeake Bay Excellence in Design Awards Program encourages and recognizes distinguished architectural achievement, and to honor the architects, clients and consultants who work together to improve the built environment, and for their role in shaping the quality of life through design excellence.
Hot Sox Field at Wilson Park
Built in 1915, the Hot Sox Field at Wilson Park in Galesville has undergone a complete renovation. It opened Labor Day 2022 to much fanfare. Play ball!
Work Includes a completely renovated, irrigated, baseball field, including fencing,
new Grandstand and bleachers, parking lot and paved trails, a new park pavilion and paver plaza, and lastly a stormwater management system and landscaping.
“It feels great to be able to save this historic field and let it be used for the community for years to come,” Makell said. “This renovated field will be great for the youth.”
